Easy Text Analyzer With Vanilla JavaScript – Word Counter Analyzer

Description:

This is a JavaScript-powered text analyzer that analyzes the text you provide and gives you instant stats like word count, character count, reading time, speaking time, and even the number of paragraphs. useful for content creators, editors, and educators who require precise measurements of text content.

How it works:

The Word Counter Analyzer works by first retrieving the text from the textarea and removing any leading or trailing whitespace. It then calculates the word count by splitting the text into individual words and counting the number of non-empty strings. The character count is determined by counting the total number of characters, excluding spaces.

To get the paragraph count, the tool looks for newline characters and counts the number of paragraphs. The reading time is calculated based on an average reading speed of 275 words per minute, while the speaking time is based on an average speaking speed of 180 words per minute. Both of these values are formatted and displayed in hours, minutes, and seconds.

All of these calculations happen in real-time, with the results being automatically updated in the HTML as the user types or edits the text. This ensures that the user always has the most up-to-date information at their fingertips.

How to use it:

1. Create a regular textarea element for the text analyzer.

<textarea id="inputText" rows="12" placeholder="Enter text here"></textarea>
<div id="result"></div>

2. Download and load the Word-Counter.js script in the document. That’s it!

<script src="Word-Counter.js"></script>
